Kit List
Homebrew has come a long way from how it was 30 years ago. Then it was a can of hopped syrupy liquid malt, a plastic bucket, an unidentified yeast and a warm place to keep it all for a couple of weeks.
Fast forward to now and its specialized malts with consistent crush, hybridised hops with fruity punch, dried and liquid yeasts of all types (including many funky bacteria) and an increased focus on water chemistry.
And as for that plastic bucket.......
On these pages I will document the equipment we use to produce and serve our beer
We brew primarily using an all-in-one electric brew solution. What this means is that the mash tun sits inside the precisely controlled boil kettle. During the mash the wort is recirculated through the grain bed, which results in an even temperature throughout the grain. This leads to an increased efficiency and a more predictable outcome.
After the mash is complete the grain basket is raised and allowed to drain into the boil kettle, along with any sparging that is done.
Post boil, the counterflow chiller is attached to the recirculation pipe and this allows the wort to be pumped through the chiller and into the fermenter.
The system we use is an old Grainfather
The fermenter we use is a Fermzilla
We keg our beers into brand new Kegland 19l kegs and serve from our Keezer
